Zen Baby: "William Taylor Jr. has 3 poems on a broadside, card stock, folded over with vellum on the inside to create a dreary, transparent, winter feel, I gather, as the poems come from the foggy genius of the poet who now hails from San Francisco. 'Postcard' is my favorite of the three, about a bumbling hungover poet who misses his bus for work, the tourist bus rolls by and his fly is undone. Classic WTJ. A real winner."
Ibbetson Update: "McNamara, a recent graduate of the Emerson College publishing program, is involved with a lot of different projects, and he likes to experiment with format, paper, etc... This broadside is really a thin chap, with ordinary gray cover stock, and waxy transparent paper inside. This paper makes for faded print. This may be for affect but I find it a bit distracting. However...the poems are excellent. Taylor paints a well-studied portrait of a stoic old man, as well |
